Alcohol Burn It or Drink It ?

Americans burn about 140,000,000,000 gallons  (140 BG) of gasoline in our cars in any given year, depending on the price. About 66% or 93 BG  of this gasoline comes from imported oil.

At this time the current plan in America is to replace 36 BG of gasoline with alcohol made in America.
However we still have a shortfall of replacing the remaining 57 BG with more ethanol, biofuels, other renewable fuels, compressed natural gas, hybrids or some other technology to become oil independent.

A national Plan is needed if we are really serious about Oil Independence. We need to get the best minds to  get creative with technology. We have 260,000,000 (260M) cars on the road. Replacing cars at 10 M per year with the latest and greatest technology will take 26 years, assuming we Americans can afford to buy them, to get Independence from Oil Imports.

Should we wait that long?  Lets do it in 10 years or less but with more ethanol and compressed natural gas.

More to come.

Why do we keep sending $600 Billion to $735 Billion of our money offshore every  year for Oil?
June 2008 Oil was $147/bbl. & gasoline was $4.25/gal. February 2009, Oil was $31/bbl. & Gas was $1.94/ gal. Now I'm hearing $5/ gal. for Gas is just around the corner! We are still dependent on foreign countries for a vital energy source and I don't like it. I like being independent and free to make a choice. But today my choices are what the Arabs or others give me.

But, we do have choices or alternatives if we want to deploy Technology that is already developed. Brazil has done it and they did it 30 years ago.

More to come later.
